Big Boost for Students: Delhi Launches Free Entrance Exam Coaching Under ₹21-Crore Mission

The Delhi government has opened a new push to support high-performing students in its schools, offering free professional coaching for major entrance exams, including JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and CUET.

Education Minister Ashish Sood announced the initiative on Monday, calling it a turning point for public education in the capital. The coaching will be offered under the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission, a scheme that was introduced in this year’s budget with an allocation of ₹21 crore.

According to officials, 2,200 students have been selected for the programme. Seats have been set aside for girls across key courses—50 in each of the JEE, NEET, CLAT and CA Foundation batches. CUET-UG has the largest intake, with 1,000 seats, including 150 reserved for female students.

The government has tied up with several well-known coaching providers such as Aakash Institute, Narayana Academy, KD Campus and Ravindra Institute. Students will receive classroom lessons, live sessions, study material and regular test practice after school hours and on weekends.

Sood said the scheme is designed not only to improve academic outcomes but also to support students’ mental well-being. “Education is not just about marks; it is about mental wellness, dignity and humanity,” he said.

The minister added that the city is moving toward AI-enabled classrooms and a more human-centred learning system to ensure equal opportunities for every child. He described the Vidya Shakti Mission as an effort to nurture talent at the grassroots while keeping students’ emotional well-being at the centre.

More than 62,000 students had taken the CET-2025 held on October 30. Counselling for the selected candidates has finished, and physical classes began on November 26.
