Mohan Yadav on Bihar Polls, Anant Singh Case, and Cabinet Changes: Exclusive Insights

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav—one of the NDA’s leading campaigners for the upcoming Bihar elections—has been actively touring the state, addressing rallies and connecting with voters. In an exclusive conversation with NDTV’s Anurag Dwary, Mohan Yadav discussed Bihar’s political mood, the controversy surrounding Anant Singh’s arrest, and the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle in his own state.

Bihar’s Political Climate and NDA’s Confidence

When asked whether the NDA feels nervous ahead of the Bihar elections, Mohan Yadav expressed complete confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Bihar has witnessed significant transformation since 2004–05, crediting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and central government initiatives for driving the state’s growth.

“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the NDA government is dedicated to serving the people. Development worth over ₹15 lakh crore has been approved for Bihar, and the progress is truly remarkable,” he stated.

Yadav added that public sentiment across Bihar suggests that the NDA is poised to return to power with strong support from voters.

Yadav Vote Bank and Inclusive Politics

Commenting on whether his appointment as Chief Minister was aimed at attracting Yadav voters in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, Mohan Yadav dismissed the notion, saying the BJP represents every section of society.

“Our party believes in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. This is not just a slogan—it’s our working philosophy,” he said.

He highlighted that the BJP has consistently promoted leaders from non-political backgrounds, calling it a truly democratic party that values merit over dynasty politics.

NDA’s Stand on Clean Politics and the Anant Singh Controversy

The interview took a sharp turn when Mohan Yadav was asked about the NDA’s decision to field Anant Singh—a leader facing over 50 criminal cases. The question sparked debate about the alliance’s stance on clean governance.

In response, Yadav reiterated the BJP’s zero-tolerance policy toward wrongdoing.

“The Prime Minister’s stand is clear—no one is above the law. The courts will decide, and if anyone is found guilty, action will follow,” he said firmly.

Cultural Connection Between Madhya Pradesh and Bihar

Highlighting the historical bond between the two states, Mohan Yadav reflected on ancient ties linking Ujjain and Bihar.

“Centuries ago, Emperor Ashoka served as the governor of Ujjain before becoming emperor. The connection between Ujjain and Bihar is ancient and deep-rooted,” he shared, adding that every Indian language holds its own beauty.

Possibility of Cabinet Reshuffle in Madhya Pradesh

Amid growing speculation about a cabinet reshuffle after the Bihar elections, Mohan Yadav confirmed that a review of his government’s performance is underway.

“Our party regularly evaluates its ministers’ performance. We believe in continuous improvement. Whatever decision the leadership takes, we will accept it with commitment,” he said.

Yadav emphasized that holding ministerial positions is a matter of trust and responsibility, adding, “Such roles come after great effort and good fortune, and one must always uphold that trust.”

FCI Procurement and Opposition Criticism

Addressing criticism from the opposition over his request to allow the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to directly procure paddy and wheat, Mohan Yadav clarified his position.

“There is nothing wrong with FCI taking the lead in procurement. In Madhya Pradesh, the FCI is capable of handling it, and the state government will provide all necessary assistance,” he explained.

Final Thoughts

As the Bihar elections draw near, Mohan Yadav’s statements underscore his confidence in the NDA’s performance and his belief in inclusive development. His emphasis on transparency, accountability, and historical unity between regions reflects both political maturity and administrative depth.
